Dear {{first_name}},
The beautiful season of Yamim Noraim is upon us, as is the familiar Shana Tova, “happy new year,” greeting. However, rather than being a Jewish equivalent of the Times Square ball drop, we are taught on this day “Hayom harat olam” היּוֹם הַרת עוָֹלם - today is the birthday of the world. What we are celebrating is the anniversary of creation itself. Each apple dipped in honey, or holiday moment we spend with friends and family, is an annual reminder of the sweetness and richness of the world around us.
Just like the world, our thriving Beth Abe community requires yearly care, celebration, and support. Our mission statement guides our work as we go forward:
Congregation Beth Abraham-Jacob is a Modern Orthodox synagogue that welcomes all Jews to share our commitment to God, Torah, the Jewish people, and Israel through prayer, learning, and acts of kindness. We seek to foster a warm community which enriches the spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional lives of all who join us.
This commitment to CBAJ is backed by the dedication of every individual who makes up our thriving community. At this time of the High Holidays, we ask you for contributions to help us sustain this mission. Your donation large or small contributes to our biggest annual fundraiser. The Chai Campaign supports our educational initiatives, social programs, celebrations, holidays, and helps to ensure all who want to participate are welcome.
You can make your donation by clicking on this link , contacting the office or sending in a check.
May we all be inscribed for a year of success, good health, happiness and meaning in our lives.
With warmest regards,
Laura Segal
President, Congregation Beth Abraham-Jacob
