1. Where is the CBAJ cemetery?
The CBAJ cemetery consists of three major parcels in Albany, New York:

  • Western Avenue (across from Crossgates Mall)
  • Fuller Road (adjacent to SUNY Albany)
  • Fuller Road (adjacent to SUNY Nanotech)

 

2. How many plots are in the cemetery?
There are 4,323 plots total, with 3,178 people already buried.
- 230 plots are reserved for future use.
- 943 plots are available for members and non-members of CBAJ.

3. How do I arrange for a plot?
- CBAJ full members receive one free plot.
- Non-members may purchase for $3,500 + $500 perpetual care fee.
- All burials must be approved by the CBAJ Rabbi.

4. How is the endowment fund managed?
It is independently managed, and its income is used solely for cemetery maintenance, repairs, and upkeep.

5. What are the annual maintenance costs?
- $25,000/year for mowing, trimming, and cleaning
- $3,000–$5,000/year for repairs and grave maintenance
These costs are not fully covered by current funding, so CBAJ’s general fund covers the deficit.
