MESSAGE FROM RABBI KEAN
Dear CBAJ Family,
On behalf of Congregation Beth Abraham-Jacob, I would like to wish you and your family a restful and meaningful Shabbat.
Wishing you and your family a happy Chanukah! See below for a copy of the CBAJ Chanukah guide. Looking forward to seeing you at one of the many Chanukah events coming up! Between Tot Shabbat on Shabbat morning, Family Learning Night on Saturday night, Chanukah on Jay Sunday afternoon, Beit Midrash Night on Sunday night, and the CBAJ Chanukah Carnival on New Year's Day, there's no shortage of things to do with CBAJ and the wider Jewish community this Chanukah!
It is with great sadness that we mourn Ludmila Lipovsky, hy''d, an 83 year-old Israeli Holocaust survivor murdered by a Palestinian terrorist outside of her Netanya assisted living facility while waiting for her daughter to take her to a medical appointment.
While Israel has made incredible progress in its multi-front war, we cannot forget that Israelis are still being forced into bomb shelters, now with an uptick of attacks from the Houthi rebel group in Yemen, or that Israeli soldiers are still being killed and injured in Gaza. Even as we celebrate Chanukah, our thoughts and tefilot must still be directed toward Israel during this challenging time.
Partnership with EPIC Family. CBAJ is proud to partner with Epic Family, an organization that provides support and counseling to children living in Israel. Epic Family has seen a tremendous uptick in need in the past year since October 7 due to the war. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to support care for one child for one year, or recruit 20 people to give $25 per month for 1 year. Click here to view the flyer or visit EPIC Family's websiteto learn more.
